Nevada SBDC guides and assists Nevadans looking to start and grow businesses, with objectives to increase business starts, create and retain jobs, and increase access to capital. One-on-one counseling services are free and confidential. Nevada SBDC also offers and coordinates a wide range of workshops and courses in collaboration with public and private entities
Many businesses consider the idea of selling their services and/or products to the government much too complicated and overwhelming. In today’s marketplace, the government could become your best customer. The Nevada PTAC, POP helps simplify the process and cut through the red tape, connecting Nevada businesses with lucrative opportunities. This procurement technical center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement from the Defense Logistics Agency.
The Business Development team creates presentations that are free of charge and contain a range of topics for small business owners and entrepreneurs. These workshops are presented in both English and Spanish and can also be presented as webinars to allow access to the remote parts of our state.
The focus of the workshops are topics including marketing, taxes, customer service, sales and others. By applying knowledge from these sessions, individuals can identify potential problems in their own businesses. The workshops are designed to teach participants of the ins and outs of business concepts so individuals have the knowledge to proceed on their own, and, if necessary, to know where to look for further assistance.
